Corentin Chavy, Mâcon Chardonnay, 2023
White Burgundy has a reputation for a reason — but the best bottles don’t always have to come with eye-watering price tags. Corentin Chavy is the son of Puligny-Montrachet winemaker Alain Chavy, and this Mâcon Chardonnay is his first vintage under his own name. It’s made in a fresher, more vibrant style, but with the same attention to detail you’d expect from a Burgundian upbringing.
Think bright citrus, ripe peach and a hint of white blossom, with lovely balance and lift. No heavy oak, no fuss — just clean, expressive Chardonnay that feels quietly classy. An easy recommendation if you enjoy Burgundy, or if you’re curious to see what all the fuss is about.
