Durigutti Bonarda, Aguijón de Abeja
Argentina, 2023
Once a humble workhorse grape, Bonarda is now turning heads—and this bottle shows exactly why. From a vineyard planted back in 1938, this is a bold, full-bodied red with loads of depth. Expect ripe cassis and dark cherry, wrapped up in smooth, velvety tannins and just a whisper of oak spice from six months in French barrels.
The Durigutti brothers are known for championing off-the-beaten-path regions, and this wine is part of their ‘Aguijón de Abeja’ (Bee Sting) range—a nod to the quiet, steady work of the bee. A brilliant alternative to Malbec if you like a bit more structure and savoury edge. Great with steak, burgers, or just something slow-cooked and rich.
